Green Loop System

Green Loop is a circular system where products for commercial kitchens are reused in the business and then recycled instead of being bought in, used and then thrown away. The model is based on Roltex Nordic's already existing product catalog of, among other things, plates, trays and kitchen equipment that have been widely used by public businesses for decades, such as the well-known MALKO plate with its characteristic granite pattern.

A plastic plate from MALKO has a superior durability compared to, for example, porcelain and can be used for an average of 3-5 years in demanding environments before they wear out. By recirculating the material, the lifespan is extended and the products can be recycled again and again for at least 30 years without affecting either the durability or the strength. When the product can no longer be reused for previous purposes, another plastic product is manufactured, or the plastic goes to energy recovery.

The products in the Green Loop System are manufactured from recycled bioplastic. The footprint of the entire production process is lower than for alternative materials such as glass, porcelain and melamine, and by recycling the material, the production is almost CO2 neutral. The Green Loop System thus becomes an important tool for businesses that carry out active environmental work, and the model meets all requirements for circular procurement.

A closed recirculation system means a solution to the major environmental challenges of our time. However, there are more advantages to a closed system in the form of a smoother flow of costs and reduced wastage. This becomes clear when analyzing similar systems with other materials. Porcelain and glass often break and need to be replaced regularly.

A safe and sustainable canteen

Roltex Nordic designs products that should last for commercial kitchens and public environments. This places particularly high demands on the environment and safety. The work environment in commercial kitchens is often heavy and physically demanding. Repetitive heavy lifting is identified as a major risk factor for kitchen staff who often suffer wear and tear injuries.

The Green Loop System results in an improved working environment in the dining room. Studies show that plastic tableware lowers the noise level by an average of 11-19 dB(A) in the higher frequency range where our hearing is most sensitive, something that reduces the risk of hearing damage and improves the working environment for both staff and diners.

Plastic products also weigh less than equivalent equipment in porcelain, glass, wood or metal. This leads to better kitchen ergonomics for both staff and guests!
